No woman has ever said no to him. Until now...

Dionysos is bored – bored with partying and easy conquests. Bored with life. After three-thousand years he’s seen everything and done everyone. Perhaps it’s time to call an end to it all. Then she shows up. Sianne is beautiful. Impossible. A mortal with the face of a goddess. And he can’t have her…

The hell he can’t.

Excerpt:

When Sianne twisted to accept the flask her short skirt slipped even further up her thighs. Dionysos’ eyes tracked the fabric’s progress. “Would you like some underwear, darling?” he purred.
She finished her sip before replying, “I’d like some pants.”
He leaned his hand on his fist. “Nope, pants aren’t on the table. The offer was for underwear.” She glowered at him. “Going once. Going twice…”
“Yes!”
“Yes, what?”
“You’re an asshole.”
“Mmm, hmm, but I’m the asshole with the underwear.” Dionysos sat up, already feeling much better, and scooted closer. He bent over until the tips of their noses were touching. “Yes, what?”
“Yes, please,” she hissed. Her eyes sparked fire at him.
He chuckled and gave in to the impulse to kiss her. Sianne immediately shut down. The heat in her eyes disappeared and she sat very still, her lips pressed against his, doing absolutely nothing.
Dionysos tamped down the irritation he was feeling and decided to wait her out. Gold eyes and blue. Firmly closed lips against firmly closed lips. A long minute passed.
“What are you playing at?” she finally whispered.
“Ha!” He sat back. “I win!”
She frowned. “Seriously. What are you playing at? I knew what the price was for my wish and I’m willing to pay it. Just get it over with already.”
“Gee. You’re so sexy when you talk dirty.” He took the wine from her lax hand and raised it to his lips once more. Dionysos looked over the city spread out before them as he drained the skein. “Thing is, Sianne, I’m not in the habit of raping women.”
“Then you don’t want to—”
“I do want to!” He faced her again and restrained himself from grabbing her and showing her just how much he wanted to. “I do. More than anything I’ve wanted for a very long time.”
She looked confused. “So, go—”
“Ahh, damn it!” Dionysos leapt to his feet and paced away. Then he whirled around and paced back. “I want you to want me too. Don’t you get that?”
Sianne gazed up at him where he towered above her. “I’m sorry, Dionysos, but that’s not going to happen.”
“Why not?” he hollered.

She didn’t even flinch. “Because I’m just not interested in sex, okay?”

In other news, The Summoner, rereleased by Lyrical Press in Sept 09, has received some lovely reviews.  I hadn't expected too many new reviews of Summoner, because the first release garnered a fair number itself, but I must say - I've been pleasantly surprised. Here's a few of 'em:

Ivy from Manic Readers gave The Summoner 4 1/2 stars out of five and says:

Hot does not even begin to describe the intense attraction between Kas and Alex. Once I started I didn’t want to stop until I’d finished. The atmosphere, the pacing, Kas and Alex, their attraction and dilemma all made for an exceptionally gripping read. Can love redeem The Fallen? Are they capable of love? Are they beyond redemption? The Summoner was nothing I expected, it was so much more. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys their paranormal love on the dark, dangerous and erotic side.

Anya from Coffee Time Romance gave The Summoner 4 out of 5 and says:

The sex in The Summoner is fantastic! Some of the hottest scenes I have read in a while. For that alone I love this book. Yet, there are many more reasons. Alexandra is a heroine who doesn’t need the hero, but isn’t too stupid to turn him away either. Kasdeya is unbelievably hot and following his conflicted decisions is a pleasure. The devil is a good side character, and with the others supports well.

Melissa of Dark Diva Reviews gave The Summoner 5 divas out of 5 and a recommended read for October 09 and says:

The line between good and evil is a very thin line anyway, and in The Summoner, that line blurs even more. However, that didn’t stop me from being captivated by the characters or the plot. I loved every minute of The Summoner, and only wish I could have had more of Kas and Alex.

Fern of Whipped Cream Erotic Reviews gives The Summoner 4.5 cherries out of 5 and says:

This story is a true joy to read, and not only because you’ll melt into the upholstery due to the mind blowing hotness contained within. I loved the concept, as well as the alternate reality created by Alisha Steele. Hell, quite literally, has never looked so good. The writing is tight, the pace is fast, and you’ll devour the entire story in one sitting.

The Summoner is an erotic story that packs one hell of a punch. Who knew demons, aka Fallen, could be so darned sexy?

There's more available on my website, www.alishasteele.com, under the Reviews section if'n you're interested.  Oh!  And speaking of my website, I've changed things up a bit and now offer a bunch of Free Reads.  Stop by and have a gander, I promise you won't be disapointed.  :)

That's it, that's all - for today, at any rate.  Thanks so much for reading.
